Corrections
We try to get every fact right. When we get one wrong, we correct it quickly and openly.
How to report an error
Tell us:
- the link to the article;
- what is wrong;
- if you can, a link to a source that shows the correct information.
Use the options on the Contact page. You do not need to give your name. We read every report, including reports from companies we cover.
What we do
- The editor checks the report against the original sources.
- If the article is wrong, we fix it as soon as we can.
- If the article is correct, we keep it as it is. If you gave us a way to reach you, we reply and explain why.
How corrections are shown
- Errors of fact (a wrong number, name, date, price or quote, or a claim we cannot support) are fixed in the article, and a note is added in this form: “Correction, October 15, 2026: An earlier version of this article said X. It is Y.” When the error changed the meaning of the story, the note goes at the top of the article. Otherwise it goes at the end.
- The “Updated” date on the article changes whenever we correct a fact.
- Small fixes that do not change the meaning, such as typos, grammar, formatting or a broken link, are made without a note and do not change the “Updated” date.
- Translations are updated from the corrected English article.
We do not silently rewrite facts. We do not delete a correction note later.
Updates are not corrections
When a story develops, or an evergreen guide is refreshed because something changed (for example, a company changes its prices), we update the article and its “Updated” date. If the update changes what the article said earlier, we explain it in the text, for example: “Update, October 15, 2026: The company has since raised its prices.”
Removing an article
We remove an article only in rare cases, such as a legal problem or an error so basic that the article cannot be fixed. The address then shows a notice that the page was removed on purpose. We do not remove articles because a company or a person would prefer that they did not exist.
